Car Rental in Bali

Written by admin on Oct 27th, 2009 | Filed under: Uncategorized
It is very easy to rent a car in Bali. You can see many places in Bali offer a range of car rental cars, so you will be sure to get a car that meets your requirement and budget.

If you are not sure which car rentals are reliable and with reputable service, you can ask a local or any tourist who has been around for a while. Another reliable source is from your resort or hotel.

You can rent a car in Bali with or without the driver; of course the rate to include a driver will cost a little more.

Basically the rate depends on:

- Where you hire the vehicle (online sometime is cheaper)
- How long you wish to hire it
- Type of vehicle
- Condition and year of vehicle

Advance Booking And Online Booking
I would suggest you to book your rental car in advance to guarantee your booking especially if you are visiting Bali during peak period. Booking online is a good choice; many established car rental companies have their own websites for online booking.

Some online car rental services include pick-up at the airport and delivery to your hotel.

Car Rental Rates
It depends on type of car you want. However, you should compare the rates with others and negotiate with them to get a good deal.

Just for your reference, the daily and weekly car rental rates as below:
Daily: starts from Rp.100,000
Weekly: starts from Rp.560,000

Additional Charges on Car Rental
Few things that you need to take note whether these are included in the rates:

- Deposit (if required)
- Car insurance
- Unlimited mileage / fuel usage
- 21% government tax
- Service charge

Speed Limit in Bali
The speed limit in Bali is not specified but you are advised not to drive above 80km as the driving style in Bali is unpredictable, some vehicles might suddenly slow down due to the bumps and craters in the road, and there are many local people and tourists walking on roadside.

Additional Informations
If you wish to drive by your own, make sure you obtain an international driving license before leaving your country otherwise you will be fined if you are caught by the police.

You will also be fined for not fastening the seat belts.

Just a reminder, unlike in the western countries, the driver seat is on the right of the car.

Last but not least, you must comply the road safety rules and take necessary precautions if you are the driver.
