If you want to save few dollars from taxi fare, you can walk out from the airport, there is a car park right in front of the main exit; walk around 5 minutes to the right from the main exit until you reach the main road, take the public taxi there, the taxi fare is much cheaper than the airport taxi.

The airport taxi charges from US$15 (Rp150,000) from airport to Kuta area but a public taxi charged me Rp15,000 only with meter.

I asked the taxi driver about the taxi fare from Kuta area to airport, it’s around Rp20,000 due to the taxi drivers have to use different roads to reach airport as many roads in Bali are one way, they need to take one big round to get there.

So, remember, if you can’t get a taxi that charges the fare base on meter, the taxi fare from Airport Denpasar to Kuta area is around Rp15,000 or slightly more; fare from Kuta to airport is higher, around Rp20,000.

Due to the increased of fuel price, the taxi fare might be slightly different now. So, ask the fare first before you go into the taxi unless the taxi charges you base on the meter.
